Clear World Briefing

Editorial policy

Clear World Briefing aims to make geography clear without making it sound more certain or simpler than it is. We check factual claims, explain our choices and correct the record when needed.

Accuracy and sources

Writers check names, definitions and factual claims against reliable reference material suited to the subject. We distinguish established geographic descriptions from interpretation, and do not present a map as a neutral or complete picture. If a claim depends on scale, date or definition, we make that limit clear.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial arrangements. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled as such, so readers can tell it apart from editorial work. A partnership does not buy favorable coverage or editorial approval.

Corrections

If you spot an error, contact us with the page and the detail in question. We review correction requests, check the underlying material and update the wording when a correction is warranted. Substantive changes are identified for readers.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be generated with AI. When an illustration is AI-generated, we label it, and we do not use it as evidence for a geographic claim.

Our point of view

Geography starts with looking closely

A map is a useful beginning, not the whole place. We connect its lines and labels to the landscape and human choices they represent.
